OTHER NEWS

2007 will be a year of many many releases both solo and with assorted artists. Some are made and ready to press others are in the very early stages of development.

The first collaboration for 2007 will be a vinyl only double album on Die Stadt. 'Torch Songs' by Jonathan Coleclogh & Andrew Liles will be available early in the new year. As with all Die Stadt releases 'Torch Songs' will be a very deluxe, beautiful and quality item.

There are some very interesting and some might consider unlikely partnerships in production - watch this space for more details as and when they EVOLVE.

'OUARDA (THE SUBTLE ART OF PHYLLORHODOMANCY)' - Andrew Liles feels this is his seminal recording - you can be the judge of that in the Spring of 2007. This release will be a CD with bonus DVD.

Also 2007 SHOULD see a lot of worldwide live dates the first of which to be confirmed is a solo show and playing as part of Nurse With Wound - details below.

A change of plan...

For assorted reasons including the cover design for the series of the 'Vortex Vault' it has been decided that the series will now come printed on 24 point cardstock, (not as a digipack as previoulsy announced) with an insert and a black Obi Strip around the CD. I am assured it will look 'very nice'.

Andrew Liles has just completed some recordings with the AMAZING voice that is Ernesto Tomasini. An edited version of 'To Maim a Donkey' that will appear on 'Black Widow - Vortex Vault Volume 4' (which will be released March 1st 2007) can be found at Ernesto's Myspace page.

Ernesto Tomasini has an astonishing range of 4 and a half octaves (from bottom D to A, 2 octaves above middle C!!!). He could sing every role in an opera all by himself!

Andrew Liles plans to work with maestro Tomasini in the futue both in the studio and in a live capacity.

The Wardrobe NEW album will be ready to ship on 23rd of October.

'A Sandwich Short' continues the journey from where the previous album, 'Cups in Cupboard' finished. The 14 tracks cover a strange and contorted musical landscape. With an ample amount of crows, magpies and deformed city dwellers the album combines the very best of Andrew Liles' twisted and incomprehensible 'vision' with Tony Wakeford's dark sensibilities.

'A Sandwich Short' features a re-invented version of 'Lucifer Before Sunrise' which originally appeared some 14 years ago on the excellent 'Revenge of the Selfish Shellfish' by Tony Wakeford and Steven Stapleton. There will also be a radically different version of 'Lucifer Before Sunrise' free with the Orkus Magazine in December.

'A Sandwich Short' also features guest appearances from the charismatic and indispensable John Murphy and Helen and Alice Potter (daughters of the infamous Colin).

Work continues on 'A Sandwich Short' the new Wardrobe (Andrew Liles & Tony Wakeford) album. 'A Sandwich Short' will feature a brand new version of 'Lucifer Before Sunrise' which originally appeared some 14 years ago on the excellent 'Revenge of the Selfish Shellfish' by Tony Wakeford and Steven Stapleton. There is an exhibition of the work of Hans Bellmer the great surrealist artist and inspiration for the release 'Aural Anagram'
at Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris

Jonathan Coleclough/Andrew Liles - Torch Songs - a Double vinyl L.P for Die Stadt - this promises to be quite a lavish affair.
The Wardrobe (Andrew Liles/Tony Wakeford) - the working title of which is 'Sandwich Short' the follow up to last years Tursa released 'Cups in Cupboard'

and scattered over the year...

A series of 4 x 12" picture discs split with Wander for Beta Lactam. Wander will be making 4 pieces based around seasons.
Whilst Wander take the Vivaldi avenue Liles pursues the Holst route with 4 pieces about the planets. The Liles tracks will be unrecognisable cover versions. It will be down to the listener to decipher the song in question. The cover versions will relate to the planet BUT will be sung/narrated in a foreign language. A very special narrator and translator will be working with Liles on the recordings. The order will look something like this

Venus - TBA

Also being considered is a small book of art by Andrew Liles. The details of how or if this can be a worthwhile pursuit are currently being discussed. Further work is yet to appear or be finalised or recorded with
Karl Blake, Colin Potter, David Late Tibet and Nurse With Wound.

JANUARY 24th

Apologies for the delay but now the picture disc 7" has now arrived and the pre- orders have now been sent -
expect them to land soon.

For those who have yet to purchase 'The Astronomical Entomologist'
there are about 15 left from andrew@andrewliles.com for £7.

The picture disc is quite some departure from the usual Liles output -
think Hawkwind meeting Faust with a hint of Donna Summer and a touch of Neu!.

There is also a special boxed edition of the 7" picture disc with a bonus 10" of 23 numbered copies. These are now sold out - We have 2 copies for sale which will appear on e-bay in the next day or so, this is not an excerise in capatalism - too many people have asked for copies and this seems the fairest way of giving everyone a fair CRACK of the whip

AndrewLiles.com does not and almost certainly will not stock the Nurse With Wound 'Duplais Blanche Box Set' which includes a remix of 'Rock N' Roll Station by Andrew Liles.

February 24th, Salt Marie Celeste will NOT be performed live by Steven Stapleton, Colin Potter, Diana Rogerson and Andrew Liles in Barcelona. Due to an array of recording commitments and unforeseen circumstances this show will no longer happen apologies to all.

The schedule this year is looking something like this - it is of course likely to change at any given moment.

January sees the release of the Nurse With Wound 'Duplais Blanche Box Set' which includes a remix of 'Rock N' Roll Station by Andrew Liles. Also ICR will release the live performance of 'Salt Marie Celeste Da Musical' performed in Vienna by Steven Stapleton, Colin Potter, Diana Rogerson, Matt Waldron and Andrew Liles.

Februrary 24th, Salt Marie Celeste will again be performed live by Steven Stapleton, Colin Potter, Diana Rogerson and Andrew Liles in Barcelona.

In My Father's House are Many Mansions a CD of assorted artists remixing, restructuring and rearranging the music of Andrew Liles will be released in February of 2006. The full list of contributors is as follows; Colin Potter, The Hafler Trio, Jonathan Coleclough, Paul Bradley, Irr. App (Ext), vidnaObmana, Unsong, Bass Communion, Nurse With Wound, Aranos, Darren Tate, Frans de Waard, Band of Pain and Aaron Moore.

At around the same time as the release of 'In My Father's House are Many Mansions' a limited edition Print and T-shirt will be issued.

The Dying Submariner (A Concerto for Piano and Reverberation in Four Movements) will be released by Beta-lactam Ring records in Apirl 2006.

Ouarda - will be released by Raash Records in June 2006.

A possible live performance in some capacity with Nurse With Wound in San Francisco 15/16/17 June, with additional solo dates on the west coast.
