Moraines II is a radical re-working of the limited cdr release Moraines. The original recordings have been augmented, re-worked and newly mixed into an entirely different piece of music. The final result is far heavier and more substantial work that creates a light and dark relationship with the original release and is much more than a simple ‘remix’of Moraines.

Andrew Liles also contributes a track that takes elements and unique contributions to twist the work into his own personal sound world.

I am delighted to announce that I have been working with Brian Poole recently. Brian Poole (maybe better known as Renaldo from 'Renaldo and the Loaf') is responsible for creating one of my favourite songs ever put to plastic ('A Street Called Straight' from the LP 'The Elbow is Taboo' - 1987 - Some Bizzare). I have always loved what Brian created with Renaldo and the Loaf and the Residents and it is a great personal honour to have him involved with 'The Vortex Vault'. Brian's contributions will appear (along with material from Freek Kinkelaar and Mr and Mrs Potter) on 'Black Pool' the penultimate release in the 'Vortex Vault' series of 12 albums in October 2007.

QUESTION ?: Both Beta-lactam Ring Records and AndrewLiles.com have been repeatedly asked if 'The Vortex Vault' will be released on vinyl. The vinyl version would be a box-set of a massive 20+ albums in an edition of 160 copies. Retail price would be £200 (UK), $400 (USA) and about 310 (EURO). For this to happen we need to establish the demand for such an enormously ambitious artifact. Could all interested parties please e-mail and let us know.

Some are made, some have been in storage, some are ready to press others are in the very early stages of development, of course everything is liable to change cancellation and adaptation.

The first collaboration for 2007 will be a vinyl only double album on Die Stadt. 'Torch Songs' by Jonathan Coleclough & Andrew Liles will be available early in the new year. As with all Die Stadt releases 'Torch Songs' will be a very deluxe, beautiful and quality item.
