Insects have been around for an estimated 480 million years.

There are approximately 1.4 billion insects to every one person on Earth and there are over 1 million insect species. Insects make up about 80% of all known animal life.

Studies suggest insect populations are declining by approximately 2.5% per year, with a potential for many species to vanish within a century.

Humans are a mere inconvenience in the timeline of planet Earth. We are selfish and deluded, under the illusion that we are the most significant creatures that ever existed. If we are the custodians of this planet, we have failed miserably. But, given their resilience, along with a multiplicity of flora and fauna, insects will evolve and adapt and flourish long after we have perished.
