Cracked

The source material for CRACKED is constructed from the music on sixteen different 78rpm shellac records.

The 78s have been in my collection for over 25 years. They have been utilised as atmospheric backings, looped and sampled on range of releases, notably, AN UNWORLD and the Nurse With Wound album THE SURVEILLANCE LOUNGE.

CRACKED is released in 4 editions –

i. DOWNLOAD
The audio from the 78s has been sampled and adapted to make entirely new music, no extra instrumentation has been added.

ii. DOWNLOAD + CDR: EDITION OF 27 COPIES
Professionally pressed CDR housed in hand-numbered printed sleeve. The CDR contains all the download tracks plus an extra track, ‘Thioredoxin’. This will not be available for download.

iii. DOWNLOAD + CDR + SIGNED PRINT: EDITION OF 6 COPIES
Professionally pressed CDR housed in hand-numbered printed sleeve with signed and numbered print. The CDR contains all the download tracks plus an extra track, ‘Thioredoxin’. This will not be available for download.

iv. DOWNLOAD + CDR + 12″ LATHE CUT: EDITION OF 16 COPIES
Each lathe cut is unique as side two of the disc includes the two original recordings from the 78 record that is stuck to the back cover. No two lathes are the same. These tracks will not be available for download. Side one is the same on every lathe cut and features ‘Abacus of Unknowing’ that will not be available for download.

The lathe cut is housed in a full colour gloss laminate sleeve and includes a high quality A4 art print which has been reproduced on 300gsm recycled board. The 78 unique to your lathe has been CRACKED and stuck to the back cover. The package also includes the CDR mentioned above.
